Version 2026-10-11 · Last updated 11 October 2026

Draft for legal review. This is a plain-English summary of how the Adhyatm pilot works today. It is not a lawyer-drafted document and will be replaced by a reviewed version before Adhyatm opens to everyone.

Who we are

Adhyatm is a pilot service for puja booking, darshan, granth reading and satsang. It is run by [Registered business name — to be added], [Registered business address — to be added].

This page explains what we collect about you, why, and the choices you have. It describes how the pilot works today.

What we collect

Your email address and the name you choose to show. You sign in with a link sent to your email; we do not ask for a password.

The details a puja booking needs: which puja and package you picked, the slot, and the names and gotra you give for the sankalp. We keep these private and use them only to perform your puja.

Delivery addresses you save, if you want prasad sent to you. Addresses are stored encrypted.

Your payment status and receipt. Card, UPI and bank details are entered with our payment partner, Razorpay, not with us. We keep only the result, such as the payment reference and amount.

Which devices are signed in to your account, and your consent choices with the date and policy version. For safety we store a scrambled form of your network address, not the address itself.

Your interests, such as a favourite deity, and your reading progress, so the app can pick up where you left off.

Why we use it

To run your account, take and perform your bookings, take payments and refunds, and send booking messages such as confirmations, receipts, recording-ready notices and refund notices. These messages are part of the service and cannot be switched off.

To keep the service safe, prevent misuse, and fix problems.

Choices that stay off until you turn them on

Offers and updates, WhatsApp messages, usage analytics and personalised suggestions are optional. They are off by default. You can switch each one on or off at any time under Privacy & consent in the app or on the website.

Switching one off is as easy as switching it on. We record each choice.

Anonymous usage counts

In the phone app, when you open the Daily Companion, open its verse, finish a reflection, switch on its reminder or choose an Ishta, the app adds one to a daily total on our server. The saved total is kept only by day, by kind of action, by language, and by a rough band of how long the app has been in use on that phone, such as "same day" or "7 to 29 days". It holds no name, email, account, device identifier or network address, and none of what you write, so it cannot be traced back to you.

We use these totals only to see whether the Companion is useful. Because they identify no one, they are not part of the optional usage analytics choice above. Your evening reflections stay on your phone and are never sent to us.

Who else sees your data

Razorpay processes your payments. Our email provider delivers your sign-in and booking emails. Our hosting providers store the data for us.

The temple or priest performing your puja sees only what is needed to perform it.

We do not sell your personal data.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is open.

Some records must be kept after you leave: the security and activity log, payment records, and invoices or tax records. These are kept for as long as the law requires, under an anonymous reference instead of your name.

Exact retention periods for each type of data are to be confirmed before launch.

Deleting your account

You can ask us to delete your account from Delete Account in the app or on the website. You will be asked to sign in again first, for your safety.

We wait 7 days before deleting, in case you change your mind. You can cancel the request at any time in those 7 days. After that your personal data is erased, except the records described above.

Your rights and complaints

You can see and correct your details in Profile, see and change your consent under Privacy & consent, see the devices signed in under Sessions, and delete your account.

For any other privacy request or complaint, write to [Grievance officer name and email — to be added]. How quickly we respond is to be confirmed before launch.

Children

Adhyatm is meant for adults. Children should use it only with a parent or guardian.

Changes to this page

If we change this policy, we will update the version and date above. A reviewed policy will replace this summary before public launch.
